What is this compilation? Well, to put it frankly, its the biggest and best rebuttal I could think of to give to cancer. A year ago today, (June 1st, 2012) at the age of 17, I was told by my doctor that I was going to have to combat my second brain tumor. A large portion of my two summer months were spent in the hospital recuperating and facing several other complications induced by the initial surgery that led to two additional operations. However, over the course of those two months, I received a blessing in the form of my primary nurse at the time. It is because of her selfless effort to make me see the light in one of my darkest times that I became aware of my duty to give back, so here we are now. This project started on a couch in my house when I said to a friend, "let's host a series of concerts to raise money for the hospital." Several months later, we've hosted two successful shows, are planning many more and are at the point of releasing this compilation full of bands from across the country as well as local bands who have backed this cause from the start,. To say the least, I couldn't be more grateful. All of the money made thus far and all of the money that will be made in the times to come will be going directly to programs geared towards childhood cancer research as well as programs established to better the lives of those already facing the ailment.

Thank you to Nurse Christine Rovelli for keeping my ship afloat both physically and mentally throughout my stint in the hospital, Julia Starzef for her immense efforts in getting this project off the ground and turning it into exactly what I wanted it to be, Andres Gonzalez for being the unsung hero of our first two shows, every band who has played a show or contributed a song to this compilation and thank you to everyone who has been to a show and donated their time and money to help me help the lives of children suffering from cancer. You're all heroes.
